Sport Positive Summit Postponed Until October Due to Coronavirus

0

Organizers of the first Sport Positive Summit, scheduled for March 17-18 at London’s Wembley Stadium, announced that the event has been postponed in light of the global expansion of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. It is now scheduled for October 1-2, 2020.

The rescheduled Summit, produced by Sport Positive in collaboration with UNFCCC Global Climate Action and International Olympic Committee, will still take place at Wembley Stadium, the iconic home of English soccer.

Organizers call Sport Positive Summit “the global meeting place for sports organizations effecting, or looking to effect, positive environmental impacts.

“The health and wellbeing of our community is of paramount importance and our number one priority,” Founder and CEO of Sport Positive, Claire Poole, said of the decision in a statement. “Taking into account the justified concerns of our participants, who will join us from 22+ countries, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Summit. “Our speakers, partners, collaborators and attendees have been unequivocally supportive of this move, and we will continue to work tirelessly to drive momentum around this important issue through to our new dates in October, and beyond.”
